Mark Long has been the Principal of Penrith Selective High School since 2016. Prior to this appointment, he was the Deputy Principal at James Ruse Agricultural High School and Elizabeth Macarthur High School.

 

As a former professional and world champion athlete, Mark has a strong commitment to both high performance and a passion for equity that ensures all young people have access to programs that support them to reach their goals.

 

Mark has organised and presented at a number of Gifted Education conferences and holds a Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Education and Master of Educational Leadership. He commenced his Doctoral studies in 2021.

 

Since 2022, Mark has been seconded by the NSW Department of Education to support 21 schools (P-12) as the Director, Educational Leadership for the Sutherland network of schools.
