Carmela May is currently a high potential and gifted education specialist in the NSW Department of Education developing the High Potential and Gifted Education Policy, professional learning and resources. She has over 30 years’ experience working with gifted students and leading gifted education programs. She has post-graduate qualifications in gifted education and has worked with UNSW GERRIC, teaching in both undergraduate and gifted student programs. Carmela received the NSW Education Minister’s Quality Teaching Award and her school the Director General’s Achievement Award for excellence in gifted education.
